Latest news on BBCAN 2's Anick Gervais

ccTORONTO — Anick Gervais said Friday that being first to step off a block of ice during this week’s Big Brother Canada challenge had a chilling effect on her competitors.

Gervais’ strategic move resulted in her being voted the first one out by all of her fellow houseguests.

Stepping off the ice first, she said, was a way of telling the others “don’t worry about me, I’m not going to be a competitor.”

Appearing on Global’s The Morning Show, Gervais said she was surprised and “completely blindsided” by her eviction.

“I was just being myself and that slapped me in the face,” she said.

Paul Jackson nominated Gervais and Andrew Gordon, but Gordon won the Power of Veto.

Gervais, 28, said she doesn’t regret herBig Brother Canada experience, as short as it was, but admitted it wasn’t easy.

“You have no idea how stressful the game is until you get in there,” said Gervais, from Hanmer, Ont. “I had no idea it was going to be that difficult.”

She said she would welcome a chance to return to the house.

One-Down

“I went in like an octopus and strong. That got blown out of the water and I was the first one to get
off the ice block so that put a target on me right away,” Anick told host Arisa Cox. “I didn’t listen to
my own advice and that was not a good idea,”
Truth be told, you didn’t need a crystal ball to predict Anick’s fate. In her pre-show bio, Anick
admitted she is “extremely bubbly” and that “can get on people’s nerves.”
As several houseguests confessed on the live feeds, Anick’s over-the-top personality and
eccentric ways pushed all of the wrong buttons with them.
“You never know what is going to happen in there. I don’t think the world was ready for the Love
Revolution,” said the crestfallen spiritual healer.
As Anick moved out the secret houseguests moved in.
Nate Sandri, Allison White and Scott Bosse took up residence in the War Room on the
eviction episode. For a week, they will be watching the houseguests but Canada will be watching
them on the live feeds. At the end of the week, viewers will pick one of them to enter the house
and play the game as a fully-fledged houseguest. The other two will be sent home.

Gervais added it’s too soon to tell who will emerge a winner.

“I hope it’s someone with a good heart.”
