We caught up with Adel Elseri via an email interview and this's what he had to say:
Question: What are you most proud of during your time in the Big Brother house?
Answer: I stuck to my faith, I stuck to my roots and I never changed for anyone in the house. What you see is what you get: that’s Adel Elseri. The Big Brother Adel Elseri you see in the house is the Adel Elseri you’re going to meet on the streets. My proudest moment, I think, was when Kyle kept seeing me pray every day and he said, ‘Yo man, can I pray with you?’ He wanted to pray with me, and not only do one prayer, but he wanted to do all five prayers I do in a day. That was probably my proudest moment was my brother in crime in the Big Brother Canada house decided he wants to pray with me.
I was never expecting anything like that to happen. I was expecting people to ask me questions, but to actually do the proper washing before eerie prayer and try to say prayers with me. It was amazing. I could cry about it for sure.
Q: What do you regret doing?
A: No regrets. I will not say I had one regret in the Big Brother house. I had the experience of a lifetime. I had the time of my life. I never laughed, joked and bugged people so much in a long time. It was like being a kid all over again.
Q: In terms of game, what was your strongest move? Your worst move?
A: My strongest move, hands down, was manipulating my power from Canada when I won buzzworthy into the ultimate Veto, the ultimate backdoor, Canada’s Veto, etc., etc. I made so many different stories about that power. I was literally holding up people like I was ready to rob them with a pretend Veto power. I threatened every couple in the house, every friendship in the house, that ‘If you put me up, I’m going to backdoor your friend.’ And it literally worked for three whole weeks! (He laughs.) And when I was walking out the door, I decided to spill I’m going to spill the beans and told them it was all fake and baloney . . .
Q: What was your worst move?
A: My worst move was pretty much my demise. When Jon was a bit tipsy and he decided we should take out Heather this week rather than Sabrina and break up the Sloppy Seconds one week before we should have broken apart. We approached Neda with the idea, Neda agreed, right when heather won the Power of Veto, the tables turned and I was on the s..ty end of the stick.
Q: You seemed really positive during your time in the house. How did you maintain that outlook in such a stressful situation?
A: I would give that to my dad and my mom, they always told me whatever adversity, problems you are going through, all you can do is smile and be happy and make a joke out of the situation. If you’re going to be a Debbie Downer, you’re pretty much going to get eaten alive in this world. It’s a dog-eat-dog world, and in the Big Brother house, it’s a dog-eat-dog world. I could show no fear in that house. I just kept my smile on my race. Realistically, whatever was going on around me negatively, I was still always having a good time! (He laughs again.) It didn’t really affect me!
Q: Now that you are in jury, how are you going to determine who gets your vote? Is it locked in or will you make your decision after hearing the finalists address the jury?
A: My vote is already locked in. If Jon wins his way to the end, Jon was the power player of this season. He will get my vote. If Neda makes it to the end, sitting beside anyone other than Jon, Neda will get my vote. She was a strategic monster. Sabrina and Heather, I don’t see them at the end, but if they do make it to the end, I love Sabrina to death, but I would have to give it to heather. Heather won a few HoHs a few Vetos. Sabrina, I love her to death, but she just creeped through the cracks the whole season. Pretty much whoever is in Sloppy Seconds gets my vote.
