'Big Brother Canada' houseguest Dallas Cormier has 'bitter taste' in mouth after eviction

From the very first week inside the BBCAN Grand, the house was divided, with two power-players gunning for the other, leaving a trail of tension and testosterone between them. So when it came to bearded competition beast Dallas Cormier, no one was expecting the charismatic character’s demise to come at the hands of some koala bear gummies and a crumbled alliance.

Following a fake double eviction on Big Brother Canada last Thursday, the 24-year-old Saint John-based welder entered the new week irritated and alarmed after his main ally Maddy Pavle refused to listen to advice on what was best for their power alliance and did what she thought was best for herself instead, (by gunning for Loveita Adams rather than arch-rival Jared Kesler.) By the end of this week however, both former allies sat on the block side by side, and it was Dallas who ended up leaving following a 3-5 vote.

“It was a race to the finish as far as I’m concerned,” Cormier told Postmedia Network following his eviction. “I didn’t think I was going to get a majority vote, to be brutally honest. I thought it was going to be a tie. I had a deal with Tim that he was going to give me the nod if it was a four/four split.”

With international houseguest Tim Dormer as the Head of Household, the Aussie decided to do things a little differently, by asking the entire house to vote for who they wanted to see on the block, while using some koala bear gummies as voting tools. “Big Deezy” saw right through Tim’s plan and he refused to partake in the HoH’s proposal. While Dallas’ decision later cost him a spot on the block, the former houseguest has no regrets.

“I just felt like Tim wanted to play Big Brother Australia,” he said. “He wanted to sit back and watch everyone else do his dirty work for him so there could be no retaliation. It was actually a pretty decent game move on Tim’s behalf. People are going to fall for it but I wasn’t going to play his games.”

Once Ramsey Aburaneh took himself off the block following a tense Power of Veto competition, Maddy was then named his replacement nominee and the two ex-buds got to work campaigning against each other for the first time, in order to stay.

“I felt betrayed and backstabbed all in one. I tried to look out for Maddy from day one. I felt like I took her under my wing, to be her shield. And that’s what I got in return, so I have a bitter taste in my mouth about this whole situation. She had a hidden agenda and I had the wool over my eyes on that one.”

Now on the outside of the house, Dallas is already accepting his consolation prize of the season: realizing that Canada enjoyed watching his blunt and enthusiastic antics all season long. And despite not winning the BBCAN4 grand prize, he’ll accept it. “As long as I was a fun-loving character to watch and people got a kick out of me, I’m happy with that,” he said.

Big Brother Canada airs Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on Global.
