SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't watched the first eviction of the season on tonight's Big Brother Canada (or live on the west coast, where it has yet to air), then STOP READING NOW! Spoilers will be revealed....
After Loveita spent her first night in the lavish HOH room and the brothers spent a night in solitary confinement, it was time for what host Arisa Cox described as "one of the biggest twists in Big Brother history" when the results of the wildcard vote was revealed.
But first there was the matter of eviction, with Loveita putting Kelsey and Paige on the chopping block for the season's first eviction episode, leaving Kelsey in shock and Paige in tears.
When it came time to plead their respective cases, Kelsey went the flattery route, praising her fellow houseguests as "an amazing group of people" and saying "I'd be really grateful to continue on this journey with you."
Paige went in a similar direction: "Guys, I love all of you so much, and no matter where your vote goes, this has been a dream come true, so thank you so much."
When the votes were read, it was Paige who'd "been given an early checkout from the BBCAN Grand," announced Arisa.
In her exit interview, Paige tried to put her finger on what went wrong to send her out of the house in week one. "I didn't talk to enough people the first night," she explained. "I didn't make too many personal connections with everyone, and I think that first night just really, really wrecked my game."
Asked who she thinks has a shot at winning it all this year, she revealed: "If I had to put moneyon it, I would say Sharry."
But there were more surprises to come, with Arisa introducing the houseguests to this season's big twist, revealing wildcard contestants Jase Wirey (Big Brother U.S.), Nikki Grahame (Big Brother UK ), Tim Dormer (Big Brother Australia) and Veronica Graf (Big Brother Italy).
When the votes were tallied, the international wildcards who'll be checking were revealed to be Nikki and Tim — who received a surprise of their own, with Arisa revealing they'll be safe for the entire week.
In the words of Sherlock Holmes, the game is on!
