‘Big Brother Canada 2′ review: Can challenges help predictable episode?

Cast1-300x166Regardless of whether or not you watch the “Big Brother Canada 2” live feeds with any sort of regularity, there is one thing that will probably feel the same about the new episode that aired on Slice Sunday night: It was a pretty predictable hour of television.

Let’s start, first of all, with the reveal that Jon won Head of Household. Who in the world saw that coming? The simple answer to that is everyone. This was something that could be telegraphed almost a mile away. He and Arlie are the biggest challenge threats in the game, even if the latter is throwing a lot of competitions. (We know that he is capable of doing well in them.)

Then, there was the fact that Sabrina and Rachelle are both on the block. This is something anyone could’ve predicted, and while Jon at least entertained their pitches in this episode, hardly exciting television. (Luckily, things are getting a little bit more exciting on the feeds right now with all of this.)

The highlight of the entire episode, at least for us, was the Have / Have-Not Competition … and when that is something that you put at the top of the list for an episode, that’s probably not a good thing. We’re not going to sit here and say that this was particularly dull, but there have been so many more exciting episodes of the show over this season. Luckily, we have it on very good authority that the next new episode is going to be insane. Grade: C+.
