He's back! Tim Dormer parties in Sydney after finishing third on Big Brother Canada

He came third on Big Brother Canada last month.

And now Tim Dormer is back in Australia and ready to celebrate.

The curly-haired star, who won the Aussie version of the reality TV show back in 2013, was in high spirits as he attended the El Camino Cantina opening at The Rocks, Sydney, on Thursday night.

The return to the red carpet comes after Tim fell short of his quest to be the first person to win multiple Big Brother titles.

The larrikin was evicted from the Canadian version of the program after a dramatic meltdown during a trivia challenge, which ruined his chance of making the top two.

Tim faced off against Kelsey and brothers Nick and Phil in the two-hour finale, which screened last month,

They competed in a three-part immunity challenge where the winner chose who would join them in the final jury vote of all the evicted housemates.

Nick and Phil, who competed as a team, won the first round – an arctic-themed puzzle and speed game – leaving Tim to face Kelsey in the second round.

A grinning Tim raced through the house trivia game but stunned audiences when he gave up, stumped on the final question, despite being far ahead of Kelsey.

An easy victory in the third round gave Kelsey two wins and she chose the brothers to go with her into the final, evicting Tim.

In his exit interview, the Bondi native told host Arisa Cox he gave up because he realised he wanted one of the other housemates to experience the joy of winning, rather than keep it for himself.

'It was that moment where I just went: "You could do this, but do you actually want to?"' he said.
'I know that seems so crazy to everyone else out there, but that's what goes on in my crazy head.'

‘The whole game it was that decision, “I could lie, I could manipulate, I could win!” But is that what I actually came here for? I just came here for an adventure, and I got that.'

Kelsey’s choice to evict Tim came back to bite her as the brothers easily won the final jury and the CAN$100,000 prize.

Even as an outsider, the 31-year-old had become an audience favourite with his love of pranks and constant scheming, with many viewers hoping he would win.

Cassandra, who finished fourth after she was evicted the previous day, even backed Tim to win.
‘I'm putting my money on Tim, I think he's gonna slide right to the end, and he's gonna be the first player to ever win two Big Brothers,’ she said on the show.

Famous for his skeleton onesie and loudmouth nature, Tim won Big Brother Australia in 2013 and made a cameo appearance the following year.

He also came second on Celebrity Apprentice last year, losing out to Sophie Monk.
His appearance in Big Brother Canada was a surprise as just two months before he entered the house he told Daily Mail Australia he was ‘done with reality TV’ and wanted to focus on his own creative concepts.

'I'm enjoying creative stuff and working on my own ideas,’ he said. 'I think I'm done with reality TV in Australia. I think there is only so many shows that you can do.'
