BBCAN 2 premieres March 5; plus, new aftershow announced!

First things first, the premiere date for season 2 is going to be Wednesday, March 5, which is a little bit later than the first show last year. While you may be sad about that, don’t be: We have it on good authority (mostly because we’ve talked to people behind the scenes) that there is some very good stuff coming up this year, including twists that have never been done before.
Also, you’re going to have even more on-air programming with the show than ever before thanks to the “Big Brother Canada Side Show,” a comically-titled program that will air after every Thursday night eviction show at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. Arisa Cox will be there to break down everything, and will be joined by none other than season 1 stars Peter Brown and Gary Levy. This should certainly be entertaining, since there are not two larger personalities out there to do this. (There are also going to be surprise guests, which will be announced at a later date.)

It is hardly a surprise to see Slice going in this direction. “Big Brother Canada” is one of their most-successful series ever, and aftershows at the moment are also a big trend. We’re really surprised that CBS has never thought of something similar, given that there are such passionate fans out there who’d love the chance to dive into analysis of each and every move in the house. (Typically, these sort of post-show discussions in the past have involved us just arguing with friends.)
Of course, we’re going to be there every step of the way, just like we were last year. Want live feed updates? You got it, and also episode reviews, interviews, and more fun stuff.
