New Big Brother Canada series features four Albertans

Joel is one of the Alberta bunch

When Season 4 of Big Brother Canada premières next week on Global, it will have a strong Alberta flavour. Four of the 16 contestants are from Alberta, including Joel Lefevre, a 33-year-old from Edmonton.

Lefevre describes himself on his Big Brother bio as an actor but he also works at Edmonton’s 630 CHED radio station. His bio says if he wins, he would set aside most of the $100,000 prize money for “a rainy day.”

“I would save a bunch of it … I’d help my sister out, she’s expecting a baby and has a little boy so I’d give them some. I would like to give a portion to charities that deal with mental health awareness, which is very near and dear to my heart. Growing up I struggled with anxiety and depression and it’s something I think still has a lot of stigma,” his bio reads.

Loveita Adams, a 25-year-old entrepreneur from Fort McMurray, is the CEO and founder of a natural skin care line. Her bio says her strategy is to make as many promises as possible — and keep them — to build the trust of the other house guests.

Raul Manriquez, a 21-year-old fashion stylist from Calgary, says he is most excited for the experience of being on the show. Winning the money would be a nice bonus that he would share with his parents and use to start a clothing line.

Kelsey Faith, a 25-year-old flight attendant and bartender, is also from Calgary. Her bio says she doesn’t have a strategy for the game, but hopes to do well in the physical challenges. “I like outdoor activities — snowboarding, long boarding and hiking … In Alberta I’m always excited when it snows.”

The Season 4 première of Big Brother Canada will air March 2 at 10 p.m. MT.
