Big Brother Canada's Arisa Cox hasn't been idle waiting for the upcoming third season of the homegrown reality hit, and this week finds her at the Banff World Media Festival, where she hosted the festival's Rockie Awards and rubbed shoulders with everyone from Henry Winkler to Dan Rather.
ET Canada's Erin Cebula caught up with Arisa in Banff, and she has plenty to say about Big Brother Canada being renewed for a third season.
As Arisa admits, she didn't expect the Canadian version of Big Brother to be as successful as it has. "I didn't [think it would run three seasons]," Arisa tells Erin. "And you know what's funny? Everyone else did. So we knew we had to knock it out of the park, and going into the second season we wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke."
With a season-three renewal and the recent announcement that the third season will be airing on Global, it's clear there's no fluke behind the ongoing success of the made-in-Canada reality smash. In fact, Arisa believes that as long as the show continues to cast interesting people, viewers will keep watching. "Big Brother is personality-based," she explains. "We have no shortage of personalities in Canada. You don't have to be good at anything, you just have to be someone we want to watch."
Playing ringleader to the BBC shenanigans and witnessing the contestants' often-deplorable behaviour has given Arisa something of a love-hate relationship with the houseguests. "I lovethem," Arisa admits. "I hate them sometimes, but I love them. It's like family."
